The VII put together last night in Maarjamäe complex (the same premises where Levadia trains) offered a fair performance in first half until a much-discussed penalty was assigned by referee Brõtkin (in the team of Estonian Esilliga whistles) to FC Liikur.

The good Albanian shot stopper, Andi Kasmi, guessed the side but could not prevent Fjodor Uvarov from scoring the lead (13’).

Until that moment, Rumori Calcio had had the best chances.

Turkish winger Yenal Turan and young striker from Georgia, Giorgi Balakhade ,did not manage to aim on target from good positions. Dmitri Korzinski (Liikur’s goalkeeper) could only thank his good luck if Rumori did not open the score.

The second goal came four minutes later when defender Angelo Palmeri missed the ball in the attempt of anticipating Dmitri Korneev about to receive the ball. His wrong move opened a prairie to the Liikur’s number 9 and the ball soon reached Aleksandr Polevtsov (17’).

Rumori Calcio was probably punished too harshly after having shown they could have brought danger to the opposition goal.

On 2-0, the home team had to uncover to try and pull one goal before half time. Balakhadze showed good individual skills but failed to cooperate with his teammates. Good on going past the man on one-on-one’s, he should have passed the ball onto either Turan or other Turkish offensive player, Mustafa Celik, who looked in better position to finish during a couple of times. On the contrary, the ball went often lost.
As on 25’ when it triggered a deadly counter that left Rumori’s back uncovered and Kasmi an easy target for Korneev.

That was enough to close the first half.

On the resume, Liikur closed the game as they managed to score the 4-0 and the 5-0 on the early minutes (Juri Katśan on 27’ and Denis Nikolaev one minute later).

With the fatigue increasing and the morale under the toes, Rumori let another one in (Korneev, 32’) before Balakhadze transformed a penalty allowed by Brõtkin for a foul committed on the same Georgian striker.

However, it was not the start of a comeback as Liikur scored other 4 in less than 8 minutes. Most of the goals where one-on-one situations with Kasmi completely left alone at the mercy of the yellow jerseys. Korneev completed his poker of goals (42’ and 48’), Nikolaev and Uvarov their respective brace (40’).

In the long run, FC Liikur deserved the win already snatched in first half.

The yellows will continue in the winners’ bracket whereas Rumori Calcio drops in the consolation one and will clash with the Ice Bears. The latters have suffered a 9-0 loss against Baltika II.

Who loses, will be definitely eliminated from the competition.
